working out
My body was always at its best when I was doing swim team. My motivation during a particularly difficult set usually was about being hot and fast. I imagined the fat dissolving and muscles forming with each burning stroke I took. I also played music in my head. What motivated me to do multiple workouts was the desire to get faster. I also felt a greater degree of control with my appetite. Since this worked so well in the past, I plan on applying that to my life now.
I recently moved into a very surf oriented city. I'm trying to adjust to this sudden isolation from my previous life by throwing myself into the kind of life I want. I have made a really amazing resume and I will spend the next few days visiting stores by the beach. If I'm going to work a dead end job, I might as well find a place that seems chill.
I'm setting up an ambitious workout routine. I'll probably cheat with the strength parts but I want to make the cardio a regular part of my routine.
Running (2-4 times a week):
My goal is a steady 30 minute session. I want to run along the boardwalk because I can enjoy the view and keep track of my miles.
Swimming (3 times a week) : This is a rough idea of what I should be doing. Once I'm in better shape, I'll do these sets in less time. I'll probably throw in kicking too.

Yoga & Pilates : I want to start doing these a few times a week. I live right next to a 24 hr fitness so taking these classes shouldn't be difficult.
Surfing (weekends): I have a all the equipment I need. I just need a surfing buddy because going out in the ocean alone is dangerous. Until I make some local friends who are down to join me, I'll crash my school's surfing class on Fridays. I might be able to convince a family member to accompany me on saturdays and sundays. For now, I need to just work on paddling out and standing up.
